Summer university 2010 - Media Development and Democratization: Monitoring and Evaluation

 

On 5 – 16 July 2010, the CMCS and the Center for Global Communication Studies at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania, are organizing this year's summer course on media for the CEU Summer University:

"Media Development and Democratization: Understanding and Implementing Monitoring and Evaluation Programs"

This intensive course is designed to help researchers from academia and civil society gain a better understanding of the history, theory, practice, current trends, and differing methodologies involved with the monitoring and evaluation of international aid programs and their impact. 

The course also includes special topic lectures on radio, blogging, and new media.

Some 32 participants from nineteen countries are expected to take part in the summer school course. It will include lectures by leading experts on different aspects of media development.

Course directors:

  • Monroe E. Price, Director of the Center for Global Communication Studies (CGCS) at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania

  • Kate Coyer, Director of the Center for Media and Communication Studies (CMCS) at Central European University.
